South Gloucestershire Library Service is delighted to be taking part in an innovative community project with six South West library services, South West: Region of Readers.
With support from Arts Council England and SWRLS, the project is being developed with The Reader, an award-winning charitable social enterprise working to connect people with great literature through shared reading and Literature Works, the South West’s literature development organisation.
Our Shared Reading group is a place to relax and share stories with others every week. You can just drop in, sit down and enjoy listening to a great story or poem. All reading material is provided. No booking is required and the sessions are free. The group is a great way to open a conversation and make new friends.

Become a Reader Leader
Do you love reading? Would you like to connect with others in your community and share your love of reading with them?
As part of the project, we are looking for Reader Leaders in Cadbury Heath, Patchway and Staple Hill. Reader Leaders will facilitate the weekly shared reading groups at the library. They will receive full training and on-going support from The Reader and the library.
If you are interested in finding out more about joining a group or becoming a Reader Leader, please speak to your local library or call Samantha Weaver on 07812 238 532 or email [email protected]
